Timber industry 

Russia is the largest timber power in the world, where almost 1/4 of the world's timber reserves are concentrated - 82.1 billion m3. The forested area in Russia is 776 million hectares or 45% of the country's territory. 

The timber industry complex (LPK) includes the following industries:

  • The logging industry is timber harvesting.
  • Sawmill and woodworking industry - production of lumber, wood-based panels.
  • Pulp and paper industry - production of pulp, paper and cardboard.

Russia is one of the largest exporters of timber products.
The export revenue of the timber industry complex in 2012 amounted to 10.1 billion dollars. 
The main export items are sawn timber ($3.57 billion), unprocessed wood ($1.53 billion), pulp ($1.07 billion).
The high investment potential of the timber industry complex is based on the use of Russia's competitive advantages in the world timber markets, its natural resource, economic and human potential.

Lesresurs LLC

Location - Irkutsk region, Nizhneilimsky district.

The main activity is logging and production of dry planed lumber. 

The annual allowable volume of wood harvesting is 372 thousand m3

Production capacity - 170 thousand m3 of lumber per year.

The main sales markets for sawn timber are Japan, Europe, Egypt, and the CIS countries. OOO Lesresurs is one of the largest sawn timber exporters to Japan (11% of Russian deliveries).

LLC "Lesresurs" operates on the basis of the principles and criteria of FSC, has certificates:

RusForest AB

In March 2013 the company Nova Capital completed the acquisition of more than 25% of the shares of the Swedish timber company RusForest AB (NASDAQ OMX Stockholm First North: RUSF), the only publicly traded timber company with operations entirely in Russia.

Location - Eastern Siberia, North-West Russia (Arkhangelsk region).

The main activity is logging and production of dry planed lumber. 

The annual allowable volume of wood harvesting is 3.5 million cubic meters. m.

Production capacity - 330 thousand cubic meters. m of lumber per year.

The main markets for sawn timber are Europe, Japan.
